Dish Brush with Replaceable Head
Regular price $11.99 Save $-11.99This sustainable Casa Agave™, moso bamboo dish brush is a fantastic alternative to plastic dish brushes in the kitchen! Great at washing dishes as well as loosening stuck on food. It features a removeable-head so you can reuse the handle over and over again and a small wire loop at the end for hanging to dry.
Longevity: Each brush head can be used for 1-3 months or longer. Make sure to not submerge or soak the bamboo parts in water. Hang to dry or place in a dry spot after using it. If you find your brush head is not staying dry, dip the bristles in vinegar occasionally to help kill bacteria. The bamboo is naturally antibacterial but the vinegar will help too. Continue using this brush until the bristles no longer work or the brush head falls apart, then compost or bury in garden or dispose in a green waste bin. Stop using the brush and replace it if you see any mold growth.
Storage and Care: To reduce cracking, keep the bamboo parts dry and do not soak or submerge them in water. Cracking is normal for brushes over time. They are biodegradable and won't last forever like plastic! The brush head is fully replaceable so when it's worn out, slide it out from the metal wire and replace the head. Keep reusing the handle until it is worn out. Don't apply undue pressure on the handle or it will break.
Replacing the brush head: The first time, it is a little stiff to bend the wires and you may need to use a pair of pliers to loosen it. (use caution). The subsequent times, you can use strong fingers to squeeze the wires together, loosen the metal grip, and pop off the brush head. Just slide a new brush head on and replace the metal grip that holds it tight.
Using with the DISH BLOCK®: Keep in mind that when using the DISH BLOCK®, a soft sponge on most dishes is ideal for best longevity. If you use a hard bristle brush on all dishes, you will wear down the DISH BLOCK® faster than a sponge and might dig a hole in the middle of the soap.
Materials: The removable-head dish brush has a bamboo handle and brush head, with stiff agave fiber (vegan) plant bristles. It is held together with silver metal wire, and a small wire loop at the end.
Size: 23cm total length, 19cm handle, 5cm in diameter
California based company. The Moso Bamboo used is a fast-growing grass and is not the type eaten by giant pandas. FSC certified by TÜV SÜD Czech, Prague. Agave fiber bristles are grown, harvested, sun-dried and processed in Mexico using traditional techniques to ensure a high quality and strong natural fiber.
Once worn out, the bamboo and agave parts can be composted or buried in the garden, and the silver metal parts can be recycled.
Dish and Vegetable Hand Brush
Regular price $8.99 Save $-8.99This sustainable dish brush from No Tox Life is an easy replacement for your plastic dish brushes in the kitchen and home. With a moso bamboo handle and medium weight agave fiber bristles, it is ideal for general dish washing.
Replaces: Plastic dish brushes. Can be used to wash general dishes as well as to loosen stuck on food.
Multi-purpose: The hand brush can also be used on vegetables that need a good scrub!
Longevity: Each brush can be used for 1-6 months. Do not leave any of the bamboo parts soaking in water, the bamboo will absorb water and it will cause the bamboo to swell and crack. Place in a dry spot after using it. If you find your brush head is not staying dry, dip it in vinegar occasionally to help kill bacteria. The moso bamboo is naturally antibacterial but the vinegar will help too.
The handle is moso bamboo and the bristles are made out of agave fiber, making this brush 100% compostable. Use with No Tox Life's Dish Washing Block.
End of life: Once worn out, the bamboo and agave fiber parts can be composted or buried in the garden.
Why it matters: Plastic bristle scrub brushes shed tiny pieces of plastic called micro plastics. Unfortunately these tiny plastic pieces are not filtered out fully by sewage treatment. So when you hear about the "Great Pacific Garbage Patch" the majority of this garbage patch in the Pacific Ocean is actually tiny pieces of plastic that aren't even visible to the human eye. These tiny plastic pieces are being eaten by marine animals and ending up in the food chain, being consumed by humans in sushi restaurants around the globe! And if you're vegan, they are ending up in our tap water too. Help us turn off the plastic tap and choose a more sustainable option for humans and the planet.
Sustainability: Moso bamboo, known as the giant bamboo or timber bamboo, has been used for centuries to fashion buildings, flooring and culinary tools. The young shoots are often prepared into Asian dishes. The plant fiber bristles are made from agave fiber mixed with palmyra fiber. Lightly coated with non-toxic wood coating to reduce cracking and splitting. FSC certified by TÜV SÜD Czech, Prague.
Casa Agave™ agave fiber bristles are grown, harvested, sun-dried and processed in Mexico using traditional techniques to ensure a high quality and strong natural fiber.

Dish Washing Eco Sponge (3-pack)
Regular price $8.99 Save $-8.99These 100% biodegradable and compostable Eco-Sponges replace soft plastic sponges at the sink for dishwashing.
How to use for dish washing: Rub Eco-Sponge on the DISH BLOCK® or pump liquid dish soap on the Eco-Sponge and lather up dishes as usual. It will create a nice bubbly foam just like an ordinary sponge, but without creating micro plastics that wash down the drain.
Longevity: For best longevity, rinse clean and squeeze dry after using, then place it in a dry spot where it can drain. If you leave it damp it will grow bacteria and mold, since it's made from natural plant fiber. We recommend replacing it every month with a fresh one.
Notes: If you use a heavy amount of animal grease when cooking, you might replace more often, or wash it with soap several times to dislodge stuck grease. You can sanitize the sponge by microwaving the damp sponge for 20 seconds, or dipping in boiling water. Sanitizing and cleaning your sponge can help extend the life of it.
Multipurpose: Take one of the sponges and use it exclusively for the body, it makes a great exfoliating body sponge.
Made from luffa plants. Vegan.
Bundle: Includes one bundle of 3-5 sponges, enough for around 3-4 months of dishwashing.
California based company.
End of life: Once you're ready to replace your sponge, compost the old one or bury it in the garden. It is completely biodegradable, made of natural plant fiber and doesn't contain any plastics or synthetics.
